The Job Setup & Our Process
So what we’re going to be doing here guys is basically just a clean and um top coat finish. So what I’m going to be doing is starting off with some of my true neutral, gonna be agitating scrubbing with a green pad, followed up with our floor machine, our culture floor scrubber extractor that which is going to clean the floors. This is a thousand forty seven square feet at a dollar square foot, um that’s what we’re doing.
So with these floors guys, the floors just really have a lot of residue. They do have some light scratches. The customer did not want to screen the floor. They just really just want to clean them, get a lot of this residue out of the floors and just make the floors look better. You can see they did an amazing job moving all the furniture out and we’re going to go ahead and get started.
Did three estimates, three estimates before this job and all three estimates went very well. After this we have another, another estimate in Roswell so four estimates today for hardwood floors. And then we have another hardwood job which is about the same as this job right here back in Beaufort, Georgia. Guys we’re going to get started, come back and show you some results. Stay tuned.

Addressing Common Floor Issues & Residue Build-Up
So see something and so they can so you know see it for yourself. So first of all what have you guys been using on the floors? I don’t know like Murphy’s also any type of soap? Yeah stuff like that. Yeah because what it does it leaves a lot of residue.
So you can see the part that we clean, see how it has this naked look to it? And you see the part that we haven’t cleaned, you see how you can still see the scratches in the floor? Yeah. So that’s not in the wood, that’s actually in all that residue.
For example, come look over here. This is a perfect example. We’ve already done this area, flat mopped it, we haven’t put the finish down, but you see right there where I stopped? Yes. You see the scratches still on the floor. But if you look over there there’s no scratches. Okay. Because the reason why we’re taking it out of all that residue that’s on the floor.
So your issue was not in the actual wood itself, it was all that residue that’s leaving all those scratches and scuff marks on the floor that makes the floor look like they’re scratched when they’re really not. Okay okay. So what I did now just got through flat mopping just like my little post clean. Once that’s fully dry then I’m gonna put the top coat back on top.
And you’re going to tell me what should I clean my floors with? Yeah oh I got to put, I’m going to give you get a bottle of this, my own cleaner. Okay yes ma’am. Scratch Removal & Finish Application
All right so we’re going, I do want to see how this comes up. Oh you see all that? Yeah. Now these scratches, now these are pretty deep. Yeah yeah this is in the wood. This is in the wood. But a lot of these surface scratches yeah those are coming up really really good. Yes ma’am perfect.
So like for example you see the way that’s drying? Yes. See how that looks? You don’t see any more scratches because it was all in that residue. And the even the two-tone things I don’t see those anymore. Yeah you don’t see those anymore because that was all in the finish. Okay. And whatever product you guys was using that was all in that residue, those finishes not in the actual wood. So we should do this now.
The Transformation Process
Take a look at these floors. The main concern here was the back area, which had multiple scratches and surface marks. As you can see, the floor looks completely different now. The real issue was the heavy residue buildup—from cleaning agents and possibly other products the customers had used. Over time, this left the floor dull and gray.
What we are doing is reversing that damage—removing all the residue, scrubbing away the grime, and restoring the hardwood to its natural state. Applying the Finish to Hardwood Floors
Now, take a look at the areas we’ve already cleaned—see how much better that looks? Yes, so much better. We’re now about to apply the finish, and as you can see, it makes the floors look like new again.
A lot of customers, and even people who watch us on Facebook or YouTube, often get confused about the sheen of the product. The product we’re using here is a semi-gloss finish, and this is just the first coat. We’ll be applying two coats in total.
Here’s something important to understand:
For example:
When it comes to sheen levels, you typically have four options: matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss. Gloss will give you that very shiny, reflective look, but honestly, it’s not very common. In fact, I’ve only applied gloss a couple of times. Most of our customers prefer satin or semi-gloss, with semi-gloss being the favorite for giving just the right balance of sheen and natural look.
The purpose of applying polyurethane is simple—it adds a protective layer back to the floors and fills in dull, worn-out areas. This brings back life, sheen, and durability to the hardwood.
Alright guys, I’m going to finish applying the first coat, let it dry, then come back for the second coat. After that, the job is done. See you in the next one!
Before & After Results
So check that area out that was worn out. He said whoa yeah oh my god yeah that’s amazing. Yes ma’am looks a whole lot better doesn’t it? Yes that should be a good before and after. Yeah. So right now I’m just putting the first coat down, okay, and then gonna let it dry and then do the second coat, okay, and we’ll be good to go. Okay yeah so let me work on that before I put the urethane on top, see if I can make it look better.
Final Results
Right Facebook YouTube I am done. I wanted to show you guys the difference. So this is the first coat, you see that square right there? I’m gonna fill that in now. And all this right here is the second coat. So I wanted to show you guys and you can see I’m walking on the floors so the floors are able to be walked on.
I’ll tell my client to start moving furniture back in probably about two hours. But just to show you guys again, when the floors are dry you can see how beautiful the floors look and this is after two coats. But you can see how it looks, how it would have looked if I just would have left one coat. That’s why I always go with two coats.
All right customers very very happy with the results. These floors came out amazing. Also right here I left another square so you guys can see. You see that right there, see that line? That’s the first coat and all this else all this is the second coat. So this is to show you guys the difference between coats. That’s why I always always always go with two coats.
